In a soup pot, brown ground meat lightly in oil over medium heat. It meat has a lot of fat, drain off the excess grease before continuing. Add the onions and cook with the beef until softened.
Add the broth, water, frozen vegetables, carrots, potatoes, and onion soup mix. Bring to a boil. Add cabbage, rice and tomato sauce. Stir well to combine. A more water if it seems too thick. Bring back to a boil. Add pasta and stir well.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes or until vegetables, rice, and pasta are cooked through and tender. Taste broth and adjust salt and pepper. Makes 8 to 10 servings. Enjoy!
