Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes
These look like ice cream cones, but surprise, it's actually cake!
- 1 box yellow, chocolate, or white cake mix (15.25 oz)
- ingredients needed to make cake mix (eggs, oil, milk, etc.)
- 24 small, flat-bottomed ice cream cones
- 2 tubs cake frosting, any flavor (15 oz)
- sprinkles
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cake mix batter according to package directions and leave in a large bowl.
Fill each ice cream cone with half-full with about 3 Tbs of cake batter (give or take, depending on size of the cones). Do not fill up to the top, or else batter will expand during baking and spill everywhere.
Place filled cones onto a muffin tin or baking sheet. Place in the oven, careful to not knock over the cones. Bake each batch for 20-30 minutes, until cake is done and a tooth pick inserted in the center of each cake cone comes out clean. Repeat for remaining batches. Remove cones from pans and cool on a wire rack for 1 hour.
Cover the tops of the cones with frosting and swirl to look just like ice cream. Then top with sprinkles. Makes 24. Enjoy!
