Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

These look like ice cream cones, but surprise, it's actually cake!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box yellow, chocolate, or white cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • ingredients needed to make cake mix (eggs, oil, milk, etc.)
  • 24 small, flat-bottomed ice cream cones
  • 2 tubs cake frosting, any flavor (15 oz)
  • sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cake mix batter according to package directions and leave in a large bowl.
  • Fill each ice cream cone with half-full with about 3 Tbs of cake batter (give or take, depending on size of the cones). Do not fill up to the top, or else batter will expand during baking and spill everywhere.
  • Place filled cones onto a muffin tin or baking sheet. Place in the oven, careful to not knock over the cones. Bake each batch for 20-30 minutes, until cake is done and a tooth pick inserted in the center of each cake cone comes out clean. Repeat for remaining batches. Remove cones from pans and cool on a wire rack for 1 hour.
  • Cover the tops of the cones with frosting and swirl to look just like ice cream. Then top with sprinkles. Makes 24. Enjoy!
